This site, which is in English, is a stylishly designed showpiece for the work of Jordan's Ammar Khammash, with separate sections covering architecture and art. Ammar Khammash Architects is a small practice dealing with a wide range of design and research activities, including planning, circulation and landscape management schemes, building design, and interior design. Features of the Architecture section include a beautifully illustrated projects archive, a publications and articles section, and a page of Jordan and architecture-related links. The Art section is no less rich, with information about the artist, and good quality reproductions of the artworks themselves. A high quality and enjoyable site, which is well worth a visit. The information is simply stated, and all Goréja's works until 2000 are included. The design of the site again is simple, with good navigation, and no eye-catching effects to detract from the artist's paintings; his photograph on most of the pages adds a personal touch to the site. Kurt Jackson

Born in 1961, Cornish artist Kurt Jackson is described as "one of Britain's leading painters", his work embracing an extensive range of materials and techniques including mixed media, large canvases, relief work and print making. According to Jackson, "my subjects are mostly places I know well, that I visit over and over again - certain areas of coast, moorland and valleys. I also work on projects, usually one a year, which are either based on a particular aspect of Cornish culture or on a distinct track of countryside. Capturing a fleeting impression doesn't interest me. In all my paintings the aim is to convey my feelings and sense of awareness in that particular environment." Jackson's site is neat and attractive, its simplicity and effective use of white space providing a fitting context in which his paintings can shine. The site showcases the breadth of Jackson's work, including his famous plein air paintings of Cornwall and the Isle of Scilly, while also providing details of past and forthcoming exhibitions, media clippings, and a biography of the artist. Paintings of the Third Millenium (or Pinturas del Tercer Milenio in Spanish) is a great personal site, set up by the Argentinian artist Camilo Villanueva to showcase and sell his own paintings. The home page is a shock to the system with its splashes of colour, reflecting Villanueva's highly abstract, bold and visually arresting work. The site includes a good selection of paintings for sale and a smaller gallery of other works. There is also a short biography of Villanueva, with some extremely complementary critical quotes. For example, one critic writes, "one can feel part of his paintings and through them you can have access to the cosmic and change your soul". Because the site is limited in size it is easy to navigate through, and it is well worth a visit, just to experience the 'energy, love, and harmony' of the work - surely a good enough reason for anyone.
