The Art & Architecture Journal (AJ&J) describes itself as "the UK's lead professional information and reference resource for contemporary art in the public context, urbanism and architecture". The AJ&J was founded in 1980 and relaunched as an independent magazine in February 2005 with funding support from Arts Council England to represent what it calls "the energy of national public art professionals - artists - architects - opinion makers in the fields of public art - urbanism - architecture". Meanwhile, the journal has a campaigning ethos as a catalyst to enable the continuing development of successful high quality public art commissions, projects and collaboration. The site is neatly organised, with contents lists for current and previous issues (though not the articles themselves), subscription information, an events calendar, and an excellent page of links. Cultivate Interactive

Cultivate Interactive was a web magazine funded under the European Commission's Digital Heritage and Cultural Content (DIGICULT) programme, whose work was involved in "expanding the contribution of libraries, museums and archives to the emerging culture economy", but also intended as a discussion platform for the broader digital cultural community. Unfortunately, the magazine has reached the end of its programme and has "currently ceased activity"; however, users can still access back issues by browsing the site or using the advanced search facility. The site itself is well illustrated and quite neatly organised. [GAS, 5 Aug 2006].

Diseño y Decoración en la Argentina

This interior design e-zine from Argentina is a slick affair crammed full information. Extensive archives include articles on various subjects as diverse as Islamic Art, Feminine Fashion and Minimalism. There are interviews with Argentine designers, decorators and architects - however, many of the links are however not available in English. There are also details of competitions, courses and exhibitions in Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico as well as internationally. The current edition of the DyD magazine is augmented by beautiful photographs. As if that wasn't enough, there are contact addresses for many of the people mentioned and several useful links to other sites. Overall, the site is simply laid out and easy to browse, and though the English translation is flawe, it is well worth a visit in order to see what is going on in contemporary Argentinian interior design.
