I have been asked to find a buyer for the dismantled Baltic Exchange building (see www.savebritainsheritage.org/baltic.htm). This was dismantled (at a cost of £4million), carefully packed in storage and is complete with architectural plans to enable a rebuild.
I have been given 4 months to find a buyer at £750,000 after which time the dismantled building will be broken up piecemeal and sold for salvage. I think that this would be a great shame as it was thought to be one of the finest Edwardian buildings in London before it was hit by an IRA bomb.
The structure, including the marble interiors and staircases, survived but the foundations and glassworks did not, which was why the building was dismantled. Further details can be seen at website listed, although this website is not complete at the moment.
Any comments or advice on where a buyer could be found for this important building would be appreciated. It would be a shame to see it shipped out of the country, or worse, broken up.
Feel free to email me at lesley@adeptaccounting.co.uk with any comments or suggenstions. Thanks!
