We drove past Forton (Lancaster) Motorway Services on the M6 today, and I was intrigued by the iconic, mushroom-shaped tower - what a fantastic, bold structure it is!
Does anyone know anything about it? I would be interested to know who the architect was, and whether this structure is still in use. Is it even a listed building, perhaps?
Excuse the slightly fuzzy photograph - it was the best I could manage using the camera on my phone!
