With the theme of fresh approaches to high-density urban architecture this specially commissioned exhibition will feature drawings, photographs and scale models of some of the most dramatic new urban architecture in one of the world’s most dynamic cities. Spanning buildings and Vancouver’s stunning urbanism, the exhibition focuses on recent work by architects Bing Thom, James Cheng, engineers Fast + Epp and the dean of Canadian architects, Arthur Erickson.
To accompany the exhibition inside Canada House, the exterior of the building will host a stunning temporary sculptural installation designed by Bing Thom architects and Fast + Epp structural engineers

The course covers the correct use of materials and procedures in conservation and restoration using traditional French Polishing (or Finishing) skills. Like Antique Study Day II, guests bring an item or piece of furniture (structurally sound), which has a finish in need of attention or maintenance. Working under the supervision of resident craftsman, guests learn how to identify period finishes and are instructed on the sympathetic cleaning and revival of an antique finish.
The session covers the reduction and removal of ring marks and the method of applying shellac and beeswax correctly.
