Available in English and French versions, this site is dedicated to the sale of trulli, masseria and ancient houses and apartments in Puglia, in the south of Italy. BIIO itself is based in Switzerland, describing itself as "a specialist in the sale of characterful properties in the natural and preserved environment". Designed using Flash, clicking through from the splash page displays a thumbnail of all the properties currently available - more than 200 at the time of Sapling's visit. This creates quite an impressive visual effect, though it inevitably takes some time for all the images to load. Holding the cursor over a thumbnail displays the price and a larger image of the property in question, while clicking through gives access to further details and more photographs. Users can also refine their viewing by building type or price, while the rest of the site includes background about BIIO, tips on buying property in Italy, and information on the origin and history of trulli. The inclusion of an introduction to Apulia and the Itria Valley, and the copious use of images throughout the site, adds a richness that helps evoke the region's culture and atmosphere.
